Ingredients Cajun Shrimp and Sausage

  • 1½–2 lbs smoked sausage or kielbasa, ready to eat

  • 1–1½ lbs shrimp

  • 10 small potatoes

  • 3 ears of corn

  • 1 white onion

  • Avocado oil, as needed

  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt, to taste

  • Black pepper, to taste

  • Red pepper, to taste

How to Make Cajun Shrimp and Sausage

Prepare the Potatoes

Cut 10 small baby red potatoes in half. If you're using larger red potatoes, cut them into quarters.

Prepare the Corn

Slice each ear of corn into approximately 6 pieces.

Partially Cook the Potatoes and Corn

Boil the potatoes and corn until they are halfway cooked. They will finish cooking in the oven.

Once they're partially cooked, transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.

Prepare the Onion, Shrimp, and Sausage

Chop half to one whole white onion, depending on your preference.

Clean the shrimp and cut the smoked sausage or kielbasa into approximately 1-inch chunks.

Place the shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn, and onion into a clean bowl.

Season Everything

Add enough avocado oil to fully coat all of the ingredients.

Add approximately 2 teaspoons of Cajun seasoning and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper to taste.

Remember that some Cajun seasonings already contain several of these ingredients, so you may not need to add as much additional seasoning.

Mix everything together well so the oil and seasonings evenly coat the ingredients.

Bake

Spread all of the ingredients evenly onto a sheet pan.

Bake in a 400°F oven for 17–20 minutes, or until the meal is hot and the shrimp are fully cooked. Serve hot and enjoy!
